Artist Statement

Abstract Painting is what I do and love. I've learned the most about making art from experimenting, playing, stepping out of the ‘art box' when I can and enjoying the process. The good and the bad.

I  don't, typically, have a plan or vision when I start a new piece. Motivation is as simple as paint dribbling down a piece of paper or canvas. I want to see what happens when two colors collide or be astounded at the the beautiful forms and colors that magically appear when you layer and mix materials. I try and let the painting figure out what it wants to be.

When I can look at something I've painted and, each time, see or feel something a little different then I think, maybe...
                              it's not so bad after all.
